ELECTROLYSIS

hair removal using electroepilation in London

We take care of your skin

Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal

If you want your hair gone permanently and for life time then your decision
is an Electrolysis hair removal only.

ELECTROLYSIS

Laser, IPL, epilator handheld device, waxing, sugaring, threading, tweezing, plucking, shaving and depilatory creams are all promise anything other than temporary hair removal /reduction, which means your hair will regrow again and again.

However, electrolysis works by inserting a very thin sterile probe directly into the natural opening of the hair follicle, tiny amount of heat is applied, coagulating blood supply and destroy the stem cells in the follicle.

Coagulated blood supply and destroyed stem cells prevents hair from every growing in that follicle again.

Understanding the Importance of Radiant Skin

When it comes to removing unwanted hair, we face a dual challenge: achieving permanent hair removal while preserving the integrity of the skin. Choosing the right electrologist is crucial.

You need someone who is not only experienced but also deeply committed to the health of your skin post-treatment. I am dedicated to helping you achieve both goals: maintaining healthy skin and enjoying a hair-free life.

At Electrolysis by Svitlana we don’t just treat your hair; we care for your skin’s health with every treatment, striving for the highest success in meeting your skincare and hair removal needs.

MORE QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

Each session lasts between 15 minutes up to two-hour.
Based on a personal and confidential consultation, your electrologist will design a treatment plan that addresses your specific hair removal needs.
In the beginning, the sessions might be weekly, gradually advancing to monthly sessions.
It takes from 12 to 24 months of regular treatments for each area. And after that, you’re going to have a lifetime of silky smooth skin. Once these sessions are done, that’s it. There’s no more need for shaving, waxing, laser hair removal, epilation or hair removal creams.
Nothing but smooth skin.

METHOD OF OPERATION OF THE PROCEDURE

Medical electrolysis devices can destroy the hair growth cells with chemical energy, heat energy or both.
The method chosen by the qualified electrologist is the modality. All are effective.

There are three modalities in current use:

  • Galvanic electrolysis is a chemical process. The current produces a chemical reaction in the hair follicle eliminating the hair growth cells.

  • Thermolysis ( also called short-wave) produces heat. This modality heats and destroys the hair growth cells in the follicle. A higher intensity current can be applied for less time in the follicle, or current can be used at lower intensity with longer timing.

  • The Blend method combines galvanic current with thermolysis current. Thermolysis heats up the chemical reaction in the follicle destroying hair growth cells.

WHAT DOES ELECTROLYSIS FEEL LIKE?

You will feel a momentary heat sensation or pinch. Discomfort is minimal for most people.
Keep in mind that some areas of the body are much less sensitive than others.

Many people read, listen to music or even take a nap while being treated 🤍

TRANSGENDER

Your Journey Is Important to Us

If you’re looking for a solution to permanently remove excess body hair, then electrolysis is perfect for you. Whether your areas of interest are your face and chest or if you are working on a transition plan with a physician, we are here to help.
We understands the importance of your decision to transition and it’s important to share your plans truthfully so your electrolysis treatments complement your goals. Because electrolysis is the only hair removal method stamped by the FDA for permanent results, many SRS surgeons mandate electrolysis as part of the pre-operation procedures.

Electrolysis can help your appearance match your gender identity 🤍

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE THE TREATMENT ?

 Hydrate and Moisturize

Drink a lot of water during the full course of your treatment sessions and keep the

treatment area well moisturized for best hair removal results.
(Maintaining sufficient hydration for your body and moisturizing daily is all you need).

Clean and Fresh

Always arrive to your appointment in good hygiene.
Make sure the area being treated is free of dirt, makeup, deodorant debris, etc.

Depilation
Avoid shaving the treatment area for at least 3 days before your appointment.
(Hair needs to be long enough (3-4mm) to grasp with tweezers for optimal treatment).

Relax

Sleep well. A well relaxed nervous system helps with sensations.

WHAT NOT TO DO BEFORE THE TREATMENT?

Use Serious Retinoids

Stop using retinoids at least 1-week prior to treatment.

Caffeine
No coffee, high caffeine drinks. chocolate or alcohol 24-h prior to session
(they hinder process and comfort level).

Bleach Hair

Never bleach hair right before an appointment.
(The harder the hair is to see, the harder it is to remove).

WHAT TO DO AFTER THE TREATMENT ?

Soothe and Sterilize
Keep the freshly treated area clean and free of makeup for at least 24 hours. Use witch hazel or aloe vera  gel to soothe and sterilize the area.

Reduce Inflammation

Ice the treated area or apply a cold compress asap (to minimize swelling).

Cataphoresis

Your electrologist may apply a post-depilation care which uses continuous or galvanic current to restore the skin after hair removal.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

Make sure you get the time-slot that works best for your lifestyle.

WHAT NOT TO DO AFTER THE TREATMENT?

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE TREATED AREA!

Increase Risk of Infection
You may occasionally experience pin-point scabs that will fall off a few days after treatment.
Do not pick your scabs ( can lead to hyperpigmentation). Avoid rubbing, scratching and touching the treated area with unwashed hands within the first 24-hours post-treatment.

Alcohol Based Products

Refrain from using products like perfume immediately following treatment.

(Isopropyl alcohol burns and can irritate the treated area because the pores are open.)

Clog Pores

Refrain from applying make-up, deodorants or any other products ( may clog the pores of the treated area).

Wax, Tweeze, Thread or Sugaring

as it will extend the course time . If you want remove your hair between appointments, then shave or cut.

Sweat Excessively
Avoid gym, saunas, hot tubs and swimming for 48 hours

(Engagement in activities that cause excessive sweating, like working-out or sitting in a sauna 48h after treatment can trigger a build-up of bacteria and cause infection).

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Redness, Swelling, Scabbing and Possible Bruising

Redness and swelling is absolutely normal post-treatment and will pass in a few hours.

After longer, more aggressive treatment sessions the inflammation may last up tp 2 days post treatment.

Some tiny pinpoint scabbing is also normal and will certainly go away without long-term or permanent damage.  It is important to keep your post-treatment area clean and undisturbed.

The post-treatment sensation feels similar to a sunburn. Your electrologist will apply witch hazel / aloe vera at the end of your session, you can ice the area asap after the treatment.

WILL MY HAIR EVER GROW BACK AFTER ELECTROLYSIS?

In 1875 Electrolysis introduced to the medical profession by ophthalmologist Dr. Charles E. Michel when he published his record of successful permanent hair removal of ingrown eyelashes.

He was also the first to encourage its use to remove superfluous hair on other parts of the body.

And today  Electrolysis is still the ONLY FDA APPROVED METHOD for permanent hair removal!

Which means your hair will not grow back after the completion of your treatment plan.

CAN I WAX BETWEEN ELECTROLYSIS TREATMENTS?

NO. Waxing, tweezing, threading and sugaring are highly discouraged because they not only cause ingrown hairs, but they also rip the hair from the root. When hair is pulled from the root, the body classifies it as an injury and immediately kicks into protect and repair mode triggering all the body functions necessary

to repair the area and increase hair growth.

As a result, the hair most likely would not have grown long enough to treat effectively by the next time you visit your electrologist because an electrologist can’t remove what they can’t see.

The body's repairing process also triggers thicker, deeper hair growth making it harder to destroy the entire follicle in a single session, thus slowing down the electrolysis process.

IS ELECTROLYSIS SAFE FOR TATTOOS?

Absolutely! In fact, many clients with tattoos who get laser treatments go to an electrologist to remove the hair covering their tattoo because a laser would otherwise burn the skin.

TARDINESS & CANCELLATION

I value your time and schedule greatly. To help keep you on schedule, your appointment will promptly start and finish at the allotted times.

If you are late or need to leave early, you will have the rest of the scheduled appointment for the treatment however will pay for full scheduled time.
24h cancellation policy.
