As a recognised Map My Mole provider, we can access UK consultant dermatologists for an opinion on your mole or skin lesion within 48 hours. Once we received your report, we know if it is safe to treat and can make an informed treatment plan with you.
How does it work?
1. We’ll ask you some questions about your skin and your blemish/mole.
2. We’ll take a series of images of your skin using a special lens called a dermatoscope, including some detailed images of your mole or lesion.
3. A consultant dermatologist at Map My Mole will review your answers and images. You’ll receive a digital copy of your report with their findings and advice on what steps to take next.
What happens if the report finds a suspicious mole or lesion?
If a consiltant thinks the mole or lesion is of concern, they will ask you to see your GP or a dermatologist. Map My Mole will also phone you to check that you have read and understood your report.

Campbell de Morgan Spots/Cherry angiomas: Harmless red spots, also known as "Sherry blood spots." They consist of highly concentrated dilated capillaries and can be flat to the skin or larger and slightly raised. Their appearance is a cherry red to purplish colour. They are very common and can be found on many areas of the body but are most common on the torso.
Skin Tags/Cutaneous papilloma: Skin tags are benign flaps of skin. They are usually darker in colour than your skin and are often found on the neck or underarms. Skin tags can be flat or protruding. They are thought to appear on areas of the skin prone to rubbing against skin or clothing. Being overweight also increases the occurrence of skin tags
Spider Naevi: Red, spider-like blood vessels on the skin. The name “spider veins” is given for the spider-like appearance of some — with red centers and little tentacles emerging from the middle.
Facial Thread Veins/Telangiectasia: Facial thread veins /Spider veins are dilated capillaries that have lost their elasticity and become permanently enlarged. They may form as lines or as dots of redness.
Visible facial capillaries (blood vessels) often concentrate on the nose, cheeks and chin. The main causes are sun damage, injury, medication and aging.
Milia: Small, white cysts typically found on the face. Milia are tiny white bumps on the skin. Milia look like whiteheads and are often found around the eyes and nose. They don’t have an opening at the surface so they can’t be extracted like whiteheads.
Using advanced electrolysis techniques, we employ a fine, sterile probe to apply targeted energy to the blemish, effectively removing it while ensuring minimal discomfort. The skin may be slightly inflamed, a little swolen and pink for a few hours after treatment. Avoid rubbing, exfoliating, or facials for several days to allow optimal healing
